Se trata de proyectar la rehabilitación y adaptación del edificio, hoy en desuso, para un nuevo uso dotacional de ocio infantil y juvenil.
El edificio está protegido, y en él destaca, además de las fachadas historicistas de ladrillo y piedra, la estructura de acero que originalmente tenía su expresión exterior en una gran marquesina sobre las vías.
La propuesta recupera la escala monumental interior, tomando como referencia el tipo tradicional de la galería o pasaje cubierto, en el que se sitúa el volumen longitudinal que acoge el programa con necesidades de acondicionamiento (cafetería, aula). El espacio intersticial tiene funciones de circulación y de expansión de los usos del centro. Las zonas de bajocubierta acogen las áreas de ocio, y se comunican por una pasarela longitudinal.
La estrategia es reducir al máximo las zonas acondicionadas, para ajustarse al limitado presupuesto asignado y facilitar la sostenibilidad de la instalación.

The objective is the rehabilitation and upgrading of the building, now in disuse, for a new use of child and youth leisure facility.
The building is protected, and in it stands out, in addition to the historicist facades of brick and stone, the steel structure that originally had its outward expression in a large canopy over the train tracks.
The proposal retrieve the inner monumental scale, with reference to the traditional type gallery or covered walkway, where the longitudinal volume that hosts the program needing conditioning (cafeteria, classrooms) is located. The interstitial space has functions of circulation and expansion of the programme of the center. Under roof areas host entertainment areas, and are connected by a longitudinal catwalk.
The strategy is to minimize the conditioned areas, to accommodate the limited budget assigned and facilitate the sustainability of the facility.
