2005 RESTAURACIÓN DE LAS CUBIERTAS DEL MONASTERIO DE SAN BLAS

El Monasterio de San Blas se construye entre los años 1613 y 1617 para la Orden de Monjas Dominicas y su promotor es el Duque de Lerma. Se alza en el centro histórico de la villa de Lerma junto al Palacio Ducal. El edificio forma parte del tejido medieval, y a él se accede desde la plaza de San Blas, contigua a la plaza Ducal.

La restauración pretendía paliar los problemas del edificio derivados del mal estado de las cubiertas y clarificar el volumen de la torre sobre el crucero de la Iglesia que se había viso parcialmente oculto en su lado este por la deficiente resolución estructural del cuerpo anexo a la cabecera.

Se realizó una sustitución global de la estructura y faldones de las cubiertas en la torre, el noviciado y la Iglesia y se sustituyó la cobertura por teja cerámica curva (canales y cobijas) clavada en seco sobre rastreles. Se aplicó a las tejas un acabado envejecido realizado de manera específica por el suministrador para esta obra con el objeto de empastar el tono general de la intervención con el del resto del convento.

The Monastery of San Blas was built between the years 1613 and 1617 for the Order of Dominican Nuns and his promoter is the Duke of Lerma. It stands in the historic center of the town of Lerma next to the Ducal Palace. The building is part of the medieval fabric, and is reached from the San Blas square, next to Piazza Ducale.

The restoration was intended to alleviate the problems arising from the shabby building decks and clarify the volume of the tower on the transept of the church that had been partially hidden sheen on its east by poor structural resolution of the body attached to the head side.

a global replacement of the structure and skirts covered in the tower, the novitiate and the Church was made and the cover was replaced with ceramic tile curve (channels and blankets) battens nailed dry. It was applied to a finished aged tiles made specifically by the supplier for this project with the aim of stopping the overall tone of the intervention with the rest of the convent.
